I would like to know this as well! Unfortunately I don't think we MAOI users have many options :( What MAOI are you taking? I am on Emsam and it really hasn't helped my anhedonia and lack of energy at all.

Seriously I thought Emsam was stimulating? What size patch? No insomnia? Phillipa

I thought it would be stimulating too, but apparently not for me. I am on the 9mg patch. Definitely no insomnia - If anything I have an easier time falling asleep. I don't think it's necessarily making me more tired than I was before, but it's not helping. I am also taking 50 mcg cytomel as an augment (normal thyroid tests) but that doesn't seem to be helping either :(

I don't recall anyone reporting being tired on EMSAM? Did you google it on this site? Phillipa

Mirapex isnt exactly a direct stim, but i dont think u really need that, its more of a specific dopamine agonist that ,and i cant be technical here off myhead, but works at the pleasure center and helps with people who i,e were ex meth users and no longer can feel pleasure.

This is a good idea, thanks! I'll suggest it to my pdoc. But I read it can actually cause drowsiness to the point of falling asleep randomly, is that mostly just in the elderly (since it's mainly prescribed for Parkinson's)? I agree I probably don't need a stimulant so much as I just need something to allow me to enjoy things. But if it causes somnolence, that would be counterproductive, did it affect your energy level in one way or another?

Thank you for reading up on it,youre right. One thing is to never get too caught up in on label uses, rather and i know its hard for some as not everone is on the tech side, but the basic profile of the drug, and if it is one that makes sense.

Also do archive searches, this is best done on google by treating it like its a bunch of people,

"Anyone find mirapex low dose helpful"

"Anyone use mirapex for depression"

This usualy brings back old arhcived foroums that are from very tech end users,i learn a lot from reading their old stuff.

In your case my girlfriend got it due to its prfile as she is not able to feel joy, asking her as we speak, she tells me no at her dose of .25 there is no sedation, slight mild mild stimulant effect, and a basic mild but therputic mood ehnacment.

Things to always remember, never take a single posters, like me or anyones word to be fact, just use it as an aid to research.

Always remeber everyones different so it simply might not work, but also look forward to any new prospect u find.

This will cause disagreement, but your p-doc has so many patients he usualy is thinking unconventional,he uses standard therapys because a.he doesent have the time to dig deep for every person,.b he is liabable for the meds he gives you, which makes sense as to why a doc wont be excitied about using off label unconventional drugs or stragies.

Last from personal experiance, and reading, best way to tackle depression is this way,the brain is complex, and using various augments can be the differance of a roboust remission.

p.s girl also states it slightly potentiates her main ssnri cymbalta.
