Question about Adderall's effects...

I have noticed something funny about adderall IR when I have been on it (for ADHD-I).

For the first hour or 2, I am spacey and confused. Cognition is poor. After a while I perk up and my cognition improves greatly.

So, I know Adderall is a mixture of l- and d- amphetamine.

Could the levo amphetamine be making me spacey, then fades out allowing the dextro- to start working?

Or could it just be the entire drug is fading from my system?

If there is any chance the levo could my inhibiting my cognition and dumbing me down, maybe I'll ask my doc for some dexies or vyvanse.

That's kind of wierd..adderall usally I feel it start working, it has a kick to it because of the levoamphetamine stimulantion from the norepherine nuerotransmitter.

Maybe it's stablizing something, then you feel that your on track after a while. Have you ever taken a benzodiapine with it? klonopin .5mg would be a good anxiety ridder.

How much do you take 30mg? 20mg?

Sometimes lower doses do "space" you out. Higher doses interact more with the dopamine release, which causes altered behavior.

Interesting. I usually take 10mg. I think 25mg is the highest I have pushed it.

NRIs like desipramine seem to help my add-i, so maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree entirely.
