As a GABA reuptake inhibitor, wouldn't you think it would be good for anxiety?

Scott funny story about that drug, well not haha funny, but amusing..Fo whatever reason i learned of the day before its official release, and just hearing gaba back then, many many years ago made me want a drug.
So this is when i had the doc who reitred, who i dearly miss, who used excel and proved all p docs should be required to use,not pads.
Anyone at that time especialy id always ask her for stuff and get mostly no`s,i asked her about it,and she for whatever reason happen to have it,said hmm ok i dont see any harm and gave it to me.
As to your question,it is one of the most potent sedatives ive taken, not dropping drunk or tired, just sedative. It felt great the first few days, perhaps being on parnate so long i was lacking some major gaba, but i was calm, pro social etc.
Then in less then a week a dark cloud came over me,i felt a potent depression destroy parnate and hang over me i stopped in a day the drug and not too long the effects stopped.
Much later on perhaps a year,i tried it again, with the exact same meds.So for me id have to use it sparignly, perhaps the action of re uptake it a ver very strong one?
It dident do anything for anxiety head on,but when it first showed its effects it was a unique mood lifter, calmness, pro social pleasntry. But as good as it felt,it felt horrid 10 times over days later and cant imagine having stayed on it.I was on the lowest dose they provided at the start.
p.s not sure what magazine, but almost an entire section was devoted to the start of its use here in the states as a primary drug for heavy drug addiction, mainly crack coccaine.
I dont see any danger to its profile,u should get it with ease.Id just say watch closy for any sudden moood shifts good luck.

A friend of mine who has bipolar disorder is taking Gabatril as a mood stabilizer. He has been stuck in the depressed phase and experiences anxiety. So far, he says that it takes the edge off of the anxiety. I read that Gabitril was found ineffective as an anti-manic drug.

I tried it but then only for a few days and all it seemed to do was make me feel a little bit drunk, I found it difficult to walk in a straight line. It didn't seem to do anything for my depression or anxiety but then I didn't take it for very long also I don't have bipolar disorder and I imagine it would work better for somebody with bipolar disorder.
