To those who know this already,it probuably seems pointless to write this, but im assuming there are even a small amount of people who dont.
With all the various meds,w/d`s etc,one thing i think everyone here should learn is the meaning and understanding of the term NUERO PROTECTIVE.
Many reasons occur that cause the brain to sit in a full or semi toxic state, this is nuero toxcity, and ranges from drug w/d....to seizures....anxiety.... and many other brain disorders.
Nuero protection is usualy a inhibitory compound, however not always but most times, gaba being the primary factor, and many drugs, and natural substances in this manner fall under nuero protection, the fighting off of the brain of nuero toxcity, usualy from a glutamte induced overload,i.e imbalance.
Just off my head and u should double check thse, what i know to be nuero protective are,
Most gaba altering meds, being most mood stablizers.
Benzos.
Natural compounds such as taurine, kava kava.
This doesent touch the amount there are,but again learning a good deal on the two "nuero prtotection" "nuero toxcity" can be if the right aritcles some what simple to understand, and a huge plus to know since we take mind altering drugs.

That is a tough question.Ill answer by asking are any of these drugs safe?If they admitdly unsure of there method of action then they cant be sure of their safety, and god knows we dont need it at this point as we have seen the safety promise of ssris go out the window.
Benzos at the least are extremly addicting,as are many medications. But and i ask this sincerly cause i cant find it,what is the common yearly death tolld of isolated benzos use,and i say isolated strongly.
As for the addiction danger,to me a life of untreated clinical anxiety is far more dangerous,on the highway,on a dangerous job,and life crippling,so as u must do with anti depressants, one must weigh the safety with the overall life benifit, and for me as a pc tech thats easy.
For instance i remeber during xmas id have to engage in presantions on laptops in front of groups and groups, when i felt anxiety come on id go to the bath room, take klonopin, breath, and come out anxiety free and peform my job.
During my time med free, and all natural,i had training and a sit down,(manager sits next to u)and with untreated anxiety my mind flooded and i made a fool of myself as well as not keeping the job.
So to treated anxiety i owe a lot,so the anti benzo beliefs slide right off me because no one can state anything in words what i experianced first hand.
Lol hope u werent looking for a yes or no answer

Maybe this is easier.Okay 40 years on them are various doses low and from valium, to ativan, to xanax, and now valium and xanax. And until around 8 years ago felt anxiety relief now I feel nothing. A different type of anxiety not panic something inside keeps me terrified. What is it? I don't know. Phillipa
