Ok so i have been reading on a drug called CAMPREL.Its mainly indicated for acholol w/d,about 90 of info avaiable is regarding that.
However if u read its pharmcology, its pretty simple,it blocks glutamate and increases gaba,so sounds like a standerd mood stablizer no?
Anyway two other uses i can find data on is its high use in japan as a anti craving drug period, for various things mainly mentioned smoking.
Last i seen it mentioned for ocd use.
So with its pharmocolgy as well as A i lift weights and in dier need to stop smoking,B have ocd to a minor degreei ordered it.
Now im as usual scared to take it lol.Im wondering if anyone has either used it,or can read the pharmcology of it for me and tell me what they think, why or why not they see it useful.
Personaly with its method of action i dont see why its narrowed to acholol use, when it sounds like it would benifit anxiety ,social issues, and to less degree mood instability.
Let me know,
Happy holidays.

All meds have multiple uses and benefits aside from what they were approved for. Some of those benefits sometimes turn out to be more potent than what they were initially intended for. Off-label prescriptions happen all the time, and were usually discovered by pioneering doctors or patients like yourself.

>I hope you find this to read, but i have started the camprel,i had seen a few posts where users stated it did nothing, good or bad for them, and well im pretty much there with it now, however perhaps a little more time and raised dose might make the differance.
Also if u remeber our convo long ago on zonegran,i forgot to mention i did end up pyshotic, extremly,in a way to which on my worst day never experianced.
Symoms included severe islolation,i literaly lived at my pc,i dident shave,or talk to anyone,i no longer cared of my health, and the worst i stopped sleeping, and at one point when i crashed i saw a actual image. These are all charatersics i never ever ever display.
Eeerir enough after stopping zonegran right away,i in a chat had a person randomly say to me in a med convo ,"never touch a drug zonegran" it sent my sister mad,WOW i almost fell off my chair, then finaly after tons of reading and only seeing very little on zonegrans dopamine effect i come across a page article that out of no where has this enormous information on the effect of zonegran on dopamine.Where was this info?wikipedia dident have it,no site had it,guessi came across it too late, but had i prior id never have taken it,i was under the impression it mainly affected gaba and glutamate,i had no idea it had such a impact on the dopamine system. Please share ur ideas on ocd treatment if u have any.

Hmmm...I am diagnosed with ADHD, BIPOLAR II and OCD. To treat my mood problems I take 1200 mg of Lithium. To treat my ADHD I use Vyvanse 70 mg, which also helps treat my OCD. I am currently using Prozac as my main OCD treatment. I augment my OCD treatment with Keppra.
The APA treatment algorithm for OCD indicates that SSRIs be used as first line treatment of OCD. If the SSRIs don't work, Anafranil is recommended, followed by SNRIs (Effexor) and Mirtazapine. If the antidepressants don't work well enough, there are a bunch of augmentation strategies, such treatment with Buspirone, Pindolol, Morphine Sulfate, Inositol, or a glutamate antagonist (Camprel would qualify). If nothing else works, monotherapy with Tramadol, Odensatron, d-Amphetamine or an MAOI is recommended.
If medications just don't work, things like Transcranial MAgnetic Stimulation, Deep Brain Stimulation and neurosurgery are other options.
