Seroquel and ?

Posted by cee on November 11, 2009, at 19:24:06

Hello fine people

I have come to a point in the road when i know that i must take another med to knock out the rest of my depression and anxiety, I take 700mg of seroquel xr and 1.5 klonopin which has got me about 70% of the way. My pdoc wants me to add lamictal but i have heard it has bad side effects, The other is the mao parnate which i had good results with many years ago ,If anyone has any advice it would be deeply listened to

god bless
cee

Seriously how come if parnate worked you quit? Back to ssri's or snri's? Lamictal at 50mg no new feelings just the excessive salivation. I think my body is immune to meds. Phillipa I do hope someone has a great idea. And 70% sounds pretty good to me.

I think you should try the Parnate again. If it worked before it should work again. I am on my second trial of Parnate and it's working well.

Go for the Parnate!

I take Pristiq, 50mg - 100mg of Seroquel and 1mg of Klonopin. I find that Pristiq really works well with the Seroquel.

This is just what is working for me.

Good luck! Lamictil is good, I just had the dreaded side effect and had to stop (my gums started to blister).

Strange another mouth side effect. I seriously didn't find it sedating or insomnia causing. I tried twice to take it. Phillipa

Phillipa - you found lamictil sedating?

I had the mouth sores with lamictil not seroquel. Seroquel will knock you out, but it is great for sleep! Lamicitl didn't make me sleepy, but it did help with my depression. I had to stop lamictil due to the awful side effect.

Is there another drug that causes weird mouth sores?

I forgot to mention. Lamictal made me more depressed and that's why I had to go off it.

Didn't affect me either way just always spitting? What did the doc say the mouth sores were SJS? Phillipa

I am really sorry, I'm not trying to hijack anyone's post, but for some reason the link to the "start new thread" is not working, and I am desperate and worn out just from the whole registration process. I need some input from others who have are or have been on Seroquel because I'm at the end of my rope and my life is falling apart.

About 5 months ago I was given an unofficial diagnosis of Bipolar II and given a trial run of Lamictal which was horrible and I experienced all the rare side effects (facial tics, headaches, swollen lymph glands, etc) and the worst part was early awakening. I was wired tired all the time, not drowsy but like I had been awake for days. Docs weaned me off of it and put me on Seroquel 100 mg to sleep. Seroquel knocks me right OUT but for the past three months it doesn't matter how much sleep I get I feel like I've been up for days! I have had insomnia in the past but this is completely different. Within a two day time span I developed this problem and I have persistent black circles under my eyes, eyes are sunken in and am pale as a ghost. I don't know whether I'm coming or going, my brain is just not working. My M.D can't find anything physically wrong with me so I am wondering if Seroquel could be causing non-restorative sleep? I wish the time frame between the Lamictal and the Seroquel had been longer so I could rule it out better but I was desperate for sleep before, and didn't think it could get worse! I have been dealing with this for three months and can barely take care of my toddler anymore. I am failing my classes and have had to take a leave of abscence from work.

So, to sum it up....has anyone else experienced this same problem with Seroquel? It doesn't make sense to me, because the stuff knocks me out like I said so you'd think I would feel better after waking up. I expected some kind of hangover or grogginess but this is so different. Like major sleep deprivation.

Help! And again, sorry if I hijacked. I just don't know what to do anymore, because the docs don't listen to me.
