ECT side effects

Posted by Monica L on October 12, 2009, at 16:52:26

I've had 4 ECT treatments and they seem to really be helping so far. I have a question though, this may sound weird, but anyways, has anyone experienced Deja Vu feeling after having ECT?

I don't remember.

You probably won't either.

You will not likely even remember coming here.

But I am glad you're getting fast relief.

Yes! I had an almost constant deja vu like sense that I had forgotten something. I didn't experience any memory loss, just this constant deja vu like feeling that lasted until I discontinued ECT after 10 treatments. Tell the p-doc about it. It does happen.

Its called forgetting that you know something. Because your memory is faulty from the ECT.

Not everyone has memory issues after ECT. I'm sorry if you and others have.

Hi Monica,

I'm glad to hear that ECT is helping you. You say you've only had 4 treatments so far. At what point did you feel they were helping?

Also, are you having unilateral or bilateral?

Denise
