I use lyrica and have for several years. I take a high dose of 600mgs. a day for social anxiety. The problem is you become immuned to it's effects in a short time so it no longer has the anti-social anxiety effects.
Well, this is what i do that works for me. I don't take it daily anymore, i only take it before an anxiety provoking situation-mabe giving a presentation or somthing like that. I take the whole 600mgs. an hour before the event and it works beautifully for me.
Just wanted to pass on some positive information. I hope this helps somebody.

Thanks for the info. I got 40 years out of benzos low dose working well. So lyrica doesn't last as long? And I was under the impression that low doses like 50-75 were anxiety doses Gad? And does it cause weight gain? Thanks Phillipa

---This is interesting. Lyrica stopped working for me, too, but I have thought about using it for crisis. Do you get side effects when you take 600 mg Lyrica in one dose?

Lyrica has short half life so if you can just skip a day, you will find it working again the next day you take it.
For me, this drug is a blessing and curse too. I take it for more than a year and have just reached 600mg daily. Prior to getting immune to it, I was taking the occassional 300mg dose and getting the desired effect. But as I became used to it, now only 600mg will make any difference in me.
It is good for motivation but not without its adverse effects worst of them being difficulty in finding the right words.
Overall, it is good only if you can stand the side effects of it. Tolerance is a big issue along with cognitive problems.

Hmmm. I used to take Lyrica for anxiety and had to stop due to S/E's. Hadn't thought of taking as needed.
Wonder if I can do that with the Neurontin I'm now on.????
Isn't there a seizure possibility if an anti-convulsant is suddenly stopped??
