Hi all:
So I am doing fairly well, but haven't remissed, on the following combo: Parnate 30mg 2x/day; Lamictal 200mg, Neurontin 300mg 3x/day, Xanax 0.5-1mg as needed, Temazepam 30mg for sleep.
That distinct Parnate remission feeling is not quite there, not as I remember it on Parnate before, it's almost as if I am on the border of it but 60mg does not seem to be enough. I'm not crying all day or running around anxious, but not particularly interested in anything either.
I am being assigned a new psychiatrist this week as I am moving, I just hope (s)he is not like my San Francisco psychiatrist who stuck by the PDR and would not go above maximum doses for anything or even consider adding Deplin, etc.
If there are studies or *anything* to back up higher than PDR maximum doses of Parnate, I would like to see them so if I encounter a .. "witch" psychiatrist again I can back up my request.
Thx

Coming off of a serious depression in 1982 and while hospitalized I received 90 mg of parnate daily. However, in the hospital I could be very closely monitored in terms of vital signs, diet, etc. By the time I was discharged, I was down to 70 mg, and generally stayed between 50-70 mg for about a year, finally "leveling off" at mostly 30 mg for the past 20 years.
As far as documentation I couldn't help but I bet there is some documentation from the Depression Research Unit at Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes Hospital which is where I received my 90 mg. They were studying everything, but I wouldn't know how to find the articles from so long ago.
