Due to extreme apathy on Paxil, I'm going to try Luvox (about the only SSRI I haven't been on)..going to do a switchover from 20 mg of Paxil to 100 mg Luvox..
Can anyone tell me what to expect..
I've also read that coffee is a definite no-no..I'm a coffee addict, so I'm worried about how I'm going to handle this.
My fear of starting a new med is kicking in big time.
Thanks for any responses.

I took both drugs and I was extremely apathetic on both of them.
Luvox a little better than the paxil but still I could't function.I drunk a lot of coffey while on these meds.
My doctor didn't mention anything about it.

That's exactly the switch I made. Paxil at l0mg with xanax took three months and then worked. Then the pdoc decided to switch me to luvox. He gave me 50mg the first night. I was terrified of side effects and kept waiting for something. None not one. I was switched to ativan though as luvox potentiates the effects of xanax, valium also. You're correct about the coffee. But I drank tea. Next morning when he found out I did fine he raised the dose 50mg in am then 50mg at night. I was in the hospital then as thyroid TSH was up to 22 and anxiety sky high. When admitted they didn't know thyroid was off hence thought just anxiety. Thyroid was also adjusted. That's when found out hasimotos. Well from there the doc raised it 50mg a day up to 250mg and never a side effect. It worked well for three months didn't poop out was relaxed. Don't worry about apathy never had any felt really well. The rest of the story is history. Ask me privately but know the luvox was continuing to work very well. Good luck. Phillipa
