Without being able to see it or culture it, the most likely culprit is yeast. Antibiotics not only kill the bad guys, they also kill the good bacteria in our intestines that are involved in keeping normal yeast levels low. When the good guys are killed off, yeast thrives and takes over, and its infections show up anywhere in or out of the body. The genital areas are very common with both men and women.
If this internet long distance diagnosis were correct, you would need an anti-fungal cream for the immediate visual infection, but also Diflucan pills to kill the overgrown yeast systemically. Nystatin will kill them in the intestines but does not get absorbed in the body.
While antibiotics kill bacterial infections, they can allow other infectious organisms to take over. In this case, most likely yeast/fungus.
This is a very common complication with antibiotics.

Candida is a possibility, more women than men, but anything is possible I suppose, but from an antibiotic like Augmentin, clostridium difficile, a serious diarrhea causing bacteria, while maybe not an occasion often, is something that is far more serious and must be monitored.-- tidings

hi, first of all my apologies to yxibow
but you're still not right, lamictal has a suicide black box warning like all anti epileptics (i didnt knew damnid)because it simply can cause psychosis in neuroleptic sensitive people
anyway the doc prescribed DAKTARIN
a creme to put on you know... the infection...:( i'm still not recovered from my psychosis (several)
and now this :(
i will try a high dose Seroquel XR soon, it might cure me or kill me ....

Daktarin cream contains the active ingredient miconazole. Miconazole is an antifungal medicine used to treat infections with fungi and yeasts.Bingo. Sounds like a smart move by your doctor. They do get things right now and then! :-)
If this is correct, you should see that infection start to clear up rather quickly, as in a few days.
This is the end of the thread.
