Benzos are hardly touching my anxiety and panic attacks so my psychiatrist is introducing Lyrica (pregabalin) to see if that wipes out my panic and anxiety.
Thing is, If benzos don't help will Lyrica really be that effective? Doesn't it act on GABA as the benzos do?
I'm skeptical. Any advice anyone??
Thanks

How timely that you should post this as same thing here eagerly awaiting responses. I've been told it does work. Phillipa

I think it does, yet it doesnt have the wouldnt have the same effect of benzo's. They have more a tranquilizing effect. There's a suplement called GABA, it work's very indirectly, it's effects are calming but cause fatigue.
Klonopin causes fatigue and depression, [with me]. Ugh, i rerember taking 2mg-3mg for panic attacks, ugh! "someone take me to the vet, and put me down" Ugh! I could not stand the depression it caused.
Give it a try, and goodluck!

Benzos don't touch my anxiety either. I tried Lyrica at 300mg and it completely wiped out my anxiety. I felt 100%. My only problem was that it only lasted for 10 days, but I doubt you'll relapse like that. I would give it a try. My side effects were somnolence and weight gain.

If benzos don't work, you probably didn't go high enough on the dose. IME, there's almost always some dose of benzos or a combination of benzos that will alleviate anxiety, and benzos tend to be underdosed.
