I am a long time sufferer of most of the 17 dwarfs. I am curious if anyone has thoughts about the following cocktail for anhedonia, TRD, MDD, BP II or spectrum, and Adult ADD. I'd add a few other issues, but I get to depressed and can't pay attention long enough.
Cocktail:
Lamictal (dose TBD) to stabilize mood (I've tried before and had HUGE additional anhedonia at 50mg. and discontinued)
Wellbutrin Xl (300 mg. QD) (energy and some antidepressant effect)
Namenda (10mg. QD) (memory and putative warding off of stimulant tolerance)
Concerta (dose TBD) (methyphenidate and amphetamines work immediately and are nearly completely successful in slaying the dwarfs, but crap out very quickly)
Liotrix (200/50 mg. QD) (helps with energy and mood)
Savella (100 MG BID)(I have used this successfully in the past as Ixel, effects petered out and had anger issues)
One other issue. Unlike most folks, I hugely enjoyed the near anorgasmia of Prozac. Apparently my female companions were pleased as well. I have had issues with catecholamine active drugs causing quite rapid orgasm, which is not popular with any one (see also: boys differ from girls). Any thoughts along this line would be appreciated as well.
Long time listener, first time caller...I've been to depressed to register. Thanks in advance for any wisdom.

How about adding desipramine to the lamictal? It's good that you are trying lamictal because it can help the BPII and the depression. Desipramine is good for depression and ADD.
I think a lot of people are on holiday right now and that is why no one has responded to your post. The right combo is out there somewhere for you. Don't give up.

Thanks for the follow up. I have tried nortriptyline before with Prozac. The end result was a suicide attempt (someone found me). So I'm not too keen on another tricyclic. In any event, desipramine is a bit sedating, which isn't great for me - though adding it to a heap of stimulants might offset that effect. I have also considered Prozac with naltrexone instead of the Savella/ milnacipran. Have there been any more SSRI + naltrexone experiences on the board?

Actually, Desipramine is quite activating. It's very different from Nortriptyline. I'm sorry that you attepted suicide. Been there and done that several times.

Thanks. So would you suggest it in lieu of the Savella (SNRI)? If so, would you suggest an SSRI as well? It appears it effects norepinephrine. How are the side effects?

I would try the desipramine on its own. It's an effective antidepresant. I can't comment on the Savella because i have never tried it.
This is the end of the thread.
