Hey guys and gals,
What a difference.. I am so glad I went to the ER. I am on parnate 30mg twice a day, and it's already worked. Not depressed, not manic (but a bit extra focus, which helps with my ADD).
Will meet with my pdoc on 9/10 and if he won't prescribe for me I'll see another doc I found who will. Parnate requires a TAR (prior auth) from Medicaid (Medi-Cal in California), but it will go through.
Thanks for everyone's support and feedback - helped me in my absolute misery. I took great pleasure in chucking my Effexor XRs down the toilet.

I have two remarks:1. Woohoo! That's great news.
2. If you are taking the original immediate release Lamictal, you really should be taking it twice a day as per product labeling. Personally, I find that I lose a great deal of effect the following morning if I dose only once in the AM. There is a new extended release version now available, Lamictal XR, that allows for once a day dosing.
I wish you continued success.

Scott,
Thanks man! I'll make sure the TAR/Prior Auth for Lamictal is submitted before I run out.
Lamictal really is a great med - no side effects *at all*.
Thanks again for your caring advice.
