*First off, I'm not going to do anything stupid - these are just thoughts popping in my head.*
I've been taking pristiq for 6 or 7 weeks now (50mg)
I would rate it as a "meh". It has had little effect on my ADD (for which I'm trying)
I tried augmenting w/ 25mg of Strattera this morning.
I have these really annoying thoughts of suicide popping in my head now. I'm not going to act on them, no way, but it's irritating to say the least.
Does this go away?

Do you think it's the pristiq that is causing the suicidal thoughts? It is possible. If that's the case you should probably talk to your doctor about it.
I hope you feel better soon.

No, it just started today when I added the strattera.
I had none of this with just the pristiq alone...I'm kind of afraid to even mention the S-word to my doctor. :-Z

Strattera usually fails as an antidepressant. It just works on the wrong part of the brain. Strattera really can work miracles for ADD, though.
Reboxetine, another NE reuptake inhibitor, turned my thoughts toward suicide within a few days of starting it. Suicidality was accompanied by anxiety.

I was also on Cymbalta during both of these drug trials as well. Although Cymbalta is a good antidepressant for me, it probably did make me more vulnerable to aforementioned effects of these other drugs, given the synergestic effects on NE.

Well, my pdoc mentioned strattera to me today to try as an anti-depressant and for add. Are you titrating upwards? Maybe thoughts will pass, but if they don't soon, I'm not sure it's worth it.
Is your ADD proving difficult to treat?

I was under the impression that straterra was a weak med compared to say dexadrine or vyvanase. Phillipa

It's just different. People can take both at the same time.
