lifes a bitch

Posted by manic666 on August 15, 2009, at 12:18:07

i have been reading more an more on sertraline forums about people with acute jiont an muscle pain, im not saying i didnt have leg problems but its a lot worse with setraline, an im slugish an knackerd ,its bringing me down i gotta say , i went to the 150mg as the doc said it sempt ok but now im not sure , theres, no way i want to go up ,but i am getting releaf but side effect are a bummer,i may have to bite the bullit an go back to the p doc .the gp is ok but powerless without p docs approval. i left because i thought he had the approvel but he lack,s the no how , an wont take a chance.agomelatine is something on my mind , but its not that well prescibed yet in england even though avalible, plus the p doc not interested in your weight gain or sex issuies they see that as a trade off an say you lucky to be in the place your at now after some disasters, that is true im not disputing it, but it still anint no where near me.of course im scared of another withdrawl an start up into the unknown. but thats how we have to play it win or lose we have to try.but im wasted with trials you never get your health back they drain the life out of you.i still dont no what to say at the gp life an illness is a bitch

You're right. It is a bitch. And I hate when doctors don't listen when you tell them the side effects of medications. They seem to brush them off. A lot of antipsychotics make me lactate and my pdoc didn't really see why I had a problem with that. It was bloody painful!

Sounds like the Zoloft isn't the best med for you. You shouldn't have to deal with increased joint pain.

I agree with Phillipa, maybe you would like to consider Cymbalta.

Take care and hang in there.

Maniac,

I was reading about lyrica for pain relief--maybe not for joint pain though, I'm not sure. And some success w/ dopamie agonists like mirapex and requip (which they are developing in patch form).

good luck,

Maxime,

That's just outrageous! Was the pdoc a man (not to start a war of the sexes), but really, can you imagine how he'd feel if HE lactated? Cr*pes! I remember getting off effexor in the old days (or any ssri) and complaining of how sick I felt--long before I found this board or any other camaraderie of this sort--and he just looked at me blankly as if it were yet another psychological symptom my endlessly creative brain was pulling out my *ss!

We've all had these experiences. enough.

Have a very nice holiday Maxime. You may not be 'normal' but you are quite delightful to me and many others.

Yup, the pdoc was a man and he is my current pdoc. I think he only thought of lactation as the secretion of milk. He didn't think of the fact that I wasn't nursing and there would be a build up of milk that MY GOD was so bloody painful!

Well, I guess that puts it in perspective a bit--he didn't think it through to it's (painful) conclusion. Yikes!
