so i called the doc who was the second doc to not want to give me medicine. i told him, 1000mg of depakote worked in the past. will you give it to me?
he said yeah, come in lets talk.we'll see. i dont like to take meds. but maybe if i get the script i just wont fill it and that will be enough to get me through this. 20 dollar co pay but oh well.

i'll take your co-pay over my pay out of pocket fees, $20 is a bargain today. My doc is not in the network for my insurance. no way i can replace him after 20 years, so i have to suck it up and minimize time with him. i have learned to talk fast and only give the facts and very little else, so our visits fit into the 15 minutes time frame, which is $75. i tried to find another doc once and that was a disaster...she was a gum snapping thing with little experience with mao's, so it was not going to be anything remotely possible. Such is life with a chronic illness that insurance feel can be treated by anyone that agrees to sign up in their network, doesn't work very well.
