This confuses me as I was told at both Mass General and McLean in Boston that without meds the relapse rate after ECT was 100%. I don't think this is news to people who do ECT...

PS I was told that the relapse was especially low for people on MAOIs- 40%. Even people on meds relasped without continuing treatments spaced out over the first year following the initial treatment. Also, the negative side effects don't subside until after the last treatment. At least that's what I was told.

No idea just what Web Md says. Remember they are not the patients. Sometimes I wonder how much the results are skewed???? Love Phillipa
