For the last 2 years I have been on a number of different ssri and snri I was on Paxil for over 5 Yrs and worked great until I had surgery then stop working and ever since been on and off different medicine. So now were trying effexor but the generic version, started making the switch 6 days ago went down to 10 mgs of lexapro and started taking 75mgs of generic effexor and today stop the lexapro all together and started the 150mgs of the generic effexor I also take 10 mgs of valiumn a day I cut the does in half does anyone know how long I am going to feel rough headache and weird feeling in my head and tired. Please help if ones have been through this only wany postive feed back. Thank You

Hi Suzzy,
From my experience a while back, the 'rough' feeling you describe might only last a short while--maybe a week or less? I found that Effexor was very potent, and going on it caused almost flu-like symptoms that dissipated within a few days. Hang in there--in my experience, it should clear up soon.

Im feeling a little better my stomach has been a little upset but this isonly my second week taking it seen the p-doc today and said I will keep improving as time goes on but the rough part is behind me pretty much only been one week with out taking any Lexapro and only taking the effexor by itself for one week didn't sleep well the last couple of nights so we shall see what happens in the next few weeks thanks for caring
