Hi!, I'm taking 10mg zyprexa, weird things going o

Posted by Zyprexa on June 30, 2009, at 6:35:37

I'm taking zyprexa 10mg. It seem like it varries in intensity. One day realy strong can't stop being tired. The next day it seems like its doing nothing. And I can't sleep, and not tired at all. Some days its like in the middle. Its like all the pills are a different dose. I never had this problem in the past. Before I took the Abilify 2 years ago. I took zyprexa for the last 11 years. The tiredness never went away for the first 9 years or so, maybe a little. But now. It just doesn't make sense.

Zyprexa, causes tiredness...it blocks dopamine/some norephinphrine (i believe), i've taken 7.5mg-10mg, great for anxiety and sleep, yet it takes the quality of joy you see in life.

It's good for someone, maybe having a rough, unstable time, to "cool" or "put out" the turmoil, that or Ativan (worked ok) yet only lasts 6 hours, have to redose.

Well...I can't say, because i'm not a doctor, don't use my advice. Ativan, Xanax, are better for emotional "attacks" to calm, usally panic, or "turmoil", yet it's more dependency, yet, people take Prozac, Zyprexa for many years so what's diffrence doctor's are trying to make? Just a "groundless" rule? No...it's just the "need" for it is greater than Zyprexa overtime, just like Alcohol, yet Alcohol is more "needed" than any, Xanax, Ativan, because it has well-effect, yet, it causes more emotional anger outwards, that your feeling, so it show's what hell is going inside, and that will scare people. But at least, they know what your going through....mmm maybe that reality check for some people (being indirectly sarastic in general)

Benzodiapines calm, more, Alcohol calms, yet it will enrage the rage inside, and other people will see it. Barbituates....don't ask, they just make you "numb", Phenobarbital is more similar, because it makes you "tired" and "don't care", yet it is well for "on going anxiety". Been around since 1912, year the Titanic sank. Good year!

What it's doing, is blocking emotions, through antipsychotic properties, in a more soothing sense, Thorazine, Haldol are the worst, yet they have to be used when needed in case.

That's what I could, put out. Hope it helps.

Hey there Z,

Just wondering if you take anything else with the Zyprexa? Maybe you should look at your other meds as the possible culprit. Are you taking a mood stabilizer?

Regards, Rick

I don't get it it seems the zyprexa is working just fine the last few days. I've even cut the dose in half for tomorow. Because sugars are up and sleeping in late. Funny thing is just last sunday it didn't do anything, I slept for an hour that morning. Stayed up all night couldn't sleep. Then monday I slept for 20 hours.

You're taking Zyprexa and a fairly potent typical antipsychotic at the same time ?

I don't know... Seroquel hasn't worked as well these days... could be neuroplasticity just as the Valium (your body's transmitters become used to the agent and shift a bit)
