testing + for cannabis on Cymbalta

Posted by maxime on June 29, 2009, at 18:28:32

Hi

I just finished a 4 week stay in a psych ward for depression and suicidal plans. They did a tox screen on me and I tested positive for cannabis. I haven't smoked pot in over 15 years. I know that Effexor can cause a false positive for cannabis and I was wondering if Cymbalta does as well. I have had many hospitalizations and I have never tested positive before.

I really couldn't get the psych to believe me when I told her that I haven't been smoking pot.

Any thoughts?

Did a little research ...

Cymbalta can cause false positives for PCP.

And ibuprofen can cause false positives for cannibis.

So I guess I found my answer ... it was the Advil's fault. ;)

Maxime that doesn't make sense as when I've worked in psych we had a standing order for motrin and no patients tested positive? Don't get it???? Phillipa
