Has anyone experience going on an AD for depression and after you went off the meds, the feelings and issues that made you depressed in the first place, resurface like how you felt before the depression? It is almost like for me,the drugs numbed me and stopped me from processing the pain, and now that I am not depressed and off the meds, it feels like I have been transported back to the raw emotions before I was depressed. Maybe that is how truama works?

To me it's like drinking forget and then wake up and back same with benzos when on higher doses didn't think much but didn't know it then. Ad's didn't ever touch me. Phillipa

I think you are right, because it seemed to just make me numb and now that I am off the meds, I am able to process my trauma better. I feel like I am actually making headway in therapy, I seem more reflective and can think clearer. AD meds seemed to just make me stuck and it seemed like therapy was just basically support therapy, I wasn't getting any better.

It's so great that you were able to figure that out about yourself and the meds. Lots of people feel numbed out emotionally on ADs and don't like it and feel, as you did, that it interfers with therapy and moving ahead. If you can do without them, that's just great!
Good Luck.
