I was wondering if anyone notices a difference on generic paxil vs. the brand. I know to stay away from any generics produced by Teva.
Is anyone here that is on Paxil doing well on their generic or do you suggest to stick with the brand.
Thanks,
Courtney

I'd get the brand name if it has worked well for you. If the generic has worked well, I'd stick with that. I think in general the brand names are the best (and most pdocs know which generics are the most problematic.)

Hi Courtney,
If you have good insurance and can get brand then thats okay, otherwise, I would give the generic a trial first. Chances are it will work fine and you won't have anything to compaere it to, almost a psychosomatic prevention kinda.
I've had good reults with all generics, except Seroquel.Rick

Haven't tried either yet. Just am sometimes wary of generic.

Copied this statement from the web although I'm not sure if it hold validity.... Rick
" I also noticed that some generic brands differ in effectiveness and side effects. So in order to figure out which is the best for myself I did the following. First, you must ask the pharmacist who the manufacturer of your pills are. Then save at least one pill in your bottle when your finished and dont throw it out. The next time you get new pills ask the doctor for generic pills other than the one you tried. Again, save at least one pill and repeat the steps. Then you can make very good comparisons and eventually figure out which works best for you. The reason for saving one pill is so you can see the identifying code or marks on the pill and know that you have received the right one in case the pharmacist makes a mistake. I have done this and have no regrets now."

Good idea Ricker! One pharmacy I usually use just happens to use Teva for its generic paxil. The other one I use is CVS and there generic is by Aurobido. Walmart uses a company called Cadila Pharma. Anyone had experiences using CVS or Walmart brands?
Thanks,
Courtney
