i was just wondering if anyone has an idea on wether if i have certain side effects on one of these it will mean i'm likely to have them on the other as well since they are close to the same thing? Lexapro was great for me but made me so sleepy for some reason, i changed to lexapro but it's been like having the flu for 3 months with headaches, nausea and a raised temperature everyday, i've been on everything else so i was thinking perhaps trying ciprimil but i don't know if it will just have the same side effects as the lexapro.

Have you tried adding modafinil to lexapro? Great for tiredness and focus.

Lexapro's the "cleaner" version, so you'd guess that switching to Ciprimil wouldn't make much difference (whereas going the other way might).

Both, i felt hot inside for months and have been sweating a lot even though it's cold here. So the doctor started monitoring my tempature and it was high.

Nope, he did send me off for heaps of tests but everything seemed ok. It only started when i began the luvox and it has stopped now that i have gone off the luvox so it seems most likely to be the culpirit.

I was mostly on 100mg. I went up to 150mg briefly but the nausea was too much to handle.

I have with anti-psychotics, havn't tried lithium yet though.
I've always been put off trying it after my doc told me ages ago about a person that had her kidneys destroyed by it.

oops sorry.
No i havn't, the doctors here in australia won't or can't prescribe any drugs like that except to children with ADD and in the case of modafinil only by sleep doctors for narcolepsy.
I can't afford to buy it on a private script either, cheapest i can see it is $177 for 100mg 60 tablets.

That's a shame, it's a good med. The downside is that it's expensive as hell.

> I can't afford to buy it on a private script either, cheapest i can see it is $177 for 100mg 60 tablets.Lexapro is very effective and IMO is the best of what's available. Its great for Depression - it just stops it in its tracks, it works for anxiety also but not too the same degree as it does for Depression
BUT the side effects are I admit a problem; The consistent lack of motivation and drive, the propensity to want to eat more rather than less and the apathy - the feeling where you feel content and happy even when you aren't achieving or reaching goals. it's just so hard to get out of first gear!I've tried just about everything out there for social anxiety with little success...bar the Lexapro which reduces the anxiety which in turn helps to lessen the 'social' anxiety but still without being pro-social (but then what does - consistently and reliably)?
THE SOLUTION
IMO: you have to try Dexamphetamine and not in unison but combined with Moclobemide and of course the Lexapro BUT you have/need to reduce the Lexapro dose to say 2.5/5mg so that it's not an issue when combined with the Moclobemide.
Anyone taking Dexamphetamine (for ADD, increased motivation, appetite suppressant etc) should IMO ALWAYS add Moclobemide (the Moclobemide also helps with depression and anxiety in its own right although IMO not to the extent of Lexapro/Zoloft however on a positive note it is an activating Anti-depressant unlike most).
The addition of Moclobemmide prolongs the half-life of the Dex while also increasing its impact to a sig degree.
Try to have two days a week off the Dex (not Moclo) to stave off tolerance.
This is a great combination (Moclobemide is a Reversible MAO unlike Nardil and Parnate and is in my experience a very safe option as well as being an activating AD which makes for a nice complement to the effects of Dex).
So keep the Lexapro but just make those tweaks required for it to be workable and effective.
Hope that helps in some way!

If the Lexapro fatigue hits you at a predictable time of the day
there are many strategies you can come up with I am sure
