Probiotics, like Acidophilus...can I take these supplements with Parnate? With longterm antibiotics in my future, it is wise to constantly replenish the gut with the good bacterias. Which means eating mega amounts of yogurt or quality supplements of acidophilus cultures.
I can't find it now, but I though I saw somewhere these are contraindicated with MAOIs. I know the tyramine risks basically have to do with the amount of fermentation in particular foods. I wonder if someone figured that applied to things like yogurt and probiotics.
Anyway, anyone know? Probiotics ok with Parnate?

i eat yoghurt. i don't know how probiotic cultures are made apart from yoghurt making, but yoghurt is done too quickly to make tyramine a risk. and your gut has bacteria in it anyway, replacing with healthier strains isn't going to increase the risk of anything
