Has anyone had experience with dexedrine for hard to treat depression/anxiety or antidepressants that stopped working. The reason I ask is because I've read alot of positve things about dexedrine.Supposedly dexedrine does not cause anxiety like Ritalin etc.

Dexedrine certainly exacerbated my anxiety. I think that dexedrine, adderal, ritalin and concerta are all very close cousins of D-amphetamine.
I have had better luck with Provigil. It definitely stimulates me eg gets me out of bed and on babble, but is not as anxiety producing as the amphetamines. I also take it with 300 mgs of gabapentin which takes some of the edge off. Its prescribed as 100 or 200mgs. I never take more than 50ish. I get 200mgs, than break them in half than bite off about half. Next script I'm going to get 100s.
Hope this helps.

Some say providgil taking a break for a few days helps to keep it working well. Phillipa

Oddly enough, dexedrine and adderall both had a calming effect on me and helped my depression. I don't think that I am the norm though.

You are exactly right about having to take a break from the provigil. It's either that or up the dose which leaves me feeling like my brain is fried.

Zana write. Seems the people I know have said for instance take two days off a week. As a matter of fact write with a person addicted to it it does have the potential. Love Phillipa

That's not uncommon at low doses. Stimulants tend to exacerbate anxiety mostly as they wear off, which is why depressants (e.g., benzodiazepines) are frequently taken during the crash phase.

For depression? That would leave them depressed nearly 30% of the time, and probably will have minimal effect on tolerance.

What do you mean by "addicted"? If a drug is effective, naturally the person will want to keep taking it. Any psychotropic drug that works is now _by definition_ addictive.
