at that time i been taking 20mg parnate (few days reduced from 30mg). been on parnate 2+ months. and also that time been taking risperidone 0.5mg (2 weeks or more)
started on friday when i woke up. it felt like my left hand and arm were asleep, in my arm it mostly went away after some minutes (but felt it still near my shoulder for a day) but my hand... fingers... numb! at first so numb i couldn't even use one left hand finger to type, grab anything, do anything with it!
as days would go by it would improve bit by bit, but it never has gone away.
at least now i can use my left hand somewhat in typing but one finger of it only, i can grab things but not be able to apply much pressure, squeezing a conditioner bottle for example can be difficult and other day to day activities.
could risperdal have caused this? or parnate? sure my doses may seem Low for most but I am someone who is sensitive to meds so perhaps for others my dose is the equivilent of double etc.
PLS help, give me any advice, clinic gave me meloxicam to take daily.
will this go away

I would guess even the most expert specialist physicians with neuromuscular stuff wouldn't know for sure what is going on. They could probably give it a name, but not a cause or cure, and maybe prescribe yet something else to help it.
But I aint a doctor, so what do I know.
My guess is the meds did not cause it. Instead, there was already a subthreshold inflammation thing going on that was not problematic. The meds in some way aggravated that inflammation. Either from an allergy to something in the pills (one of the fillers or food colorings), from boosted norepinephrine/adrenaline action which will tend to constrict/tighten muscles and tendons; or from an immune response triggering inflammation. Though maybe you weren't aware there was a problem, the meds highlighted the weak area you didn't know about.
My 2 cents theory anyway.
Milnacipran or Prozac did the same thing to me. A previously 100% controlled wrist tendonitis came back full force with finger numbness and wrist pain. It disappeared within days of stopping the offending med. Actually, they didn't cause the problem, it was already there, just asymptomatic, so minor and under the radar that I didn't feel it. The meds somehow triggered some kind of response that worsened the already existing situation from one that was invisible to one that was highly visible.

Hi,
I know that the hydrazine derivatives(phenelzine-Nardil)can deplete B6, which can cause some peripheral neuropathy. I don't think that Parnate does, however. I could be wrong, I haven't researched it.
Take care,
Jedi
