I have lost my insurance and therefore lost my doctor so I am doing this on my own. I want to go off Abilify cold turkey as I am running out. I am also on Effexor sr and Lamictal. My doctor was going to take me off of it anyway. I just dont want to end up in hospital for going off it cold turkey...Any other experience with cold turkey>

If your doc was going to take you off it shouldn't he/she devise a withdrawal schedule for you and provide you with enough med to get throught it? Does he know? Is he planning on a substitution? Phillipa

No doctor now.....Costs $250 for office visit....I have been taking one 15mg every other day, but I will run out soon. I can handle just headaches or whatever.

That's great news!!! So encouraging and a true breakthrough. Just want to say congratulations. You must be so relieved to find something that truly works. Also, I feel for you having to suffer such chronic pain.
Yeah! Yeah!

Abilify has a long half life, realy long. It should take a while for it to come out of your system. I didn't have withdraws from it.

Sorry about my post. It was in response to another thread but it must have ended up in the wrong spot.
Anyhow, good luck going off the abilify. I'm just going on it myself, but I'm not sure if it will work.

i wouldn't suggest going off anything cold turkey. if you have enough try going at least every other day for a week then maybe every two days for a week. then be done.
but i wish there was some way you could stay on your meds. does your state offer some type of assistance for those without insurance? i know ours does.
Best Wishes
