And it's troubling! I posted awhile back and asked if anyone could relate to what I was describing. The feeling is most noticeable when I'm attempting tasks that require detailed movement with my hands. I feel like I'm trying to thread a needle in the dark and the sense of frustration becomes overwhelming, my whole body feels like it's going to start trembling!!!! to the point I have to get up and walk away?
I've never been diagnosed with ADHD as a child so I think that should be ruled out?
My current meds are lexapro, lithium, zyprexa and clonazepam.
Can anyone relate to what I'm attempting to describe?
All replies greatly appreciated..... Rick

I could research all your medications and probably find somewhere that each could cause the s/e's you are describing, which is what I think they are by the way. Hopefully you'll find someone with those exact symptoms who is on a med that you are, similar dose. Outside that, I would call PDoc tomorrow and ask which one is likely culprit. You could do trial and error maybe but seems PDoc should supervise anything like that.
Good luck, we've all been there with the crazy, nasty s/e's. I geuss knowing whats causing it would be nice, huh.

I attribute that to anxiety. Didn't know you'd had adhd as a kid check it out. Love Phillipa

Oh see you didn't have it as a kid but want to rule it out. No concentration? I'd bet on the ad. But that's just me and How I react to them. But wait lithium causes trembling. So I pick lithium. Love Phillipa

And so is the lithium! 2 days now and the side effect reduction has been dramatic. It's hard to believe that such a small amount of salt...600mg could cause such frustration. I did not develop hand tremors, but it felt like a tremor between my eye/hand coordination that caused overwhelming frustration...which led to secondary anxiety.
Oh well, just wanted to share my positive outcome.
Thanks for your support..... Rick

Hey rick,
Thats so great thats gone. I'm sure scary as he*l. Wish I could have helped you more. Maybe you can help me with your experience. I'm supposed to add Lithium to my Parntate as an augment I geuss, I have that and if it doesn't work, then Lamictal. Lithium first cause its a lot faster acting. I could research first, but wanted your experience with either. 10-11 days remission but feel like I could use a boost.
Thanks!

> ~JadeHey there JK,
Well, my experience with the two is Lamictal was far superior in the antidepressant side of things. I began to notice an improvement within a week around 75 - 100 mg. Unfortunately I had to stop as the side effects were taking a toll .... severe acne all over the back of my head!!!! and facial flushing - hot, red face. I made it to 150 mg and then decreased in attempts the side effects would diminish...not so. I would rate lamictal as #1 in the mood stabilizer field with it's ability to tackle the lower end of mixed states....depression.
Lithium for me helped somewhat with the depression but I believe it's better for true bipolar as it works from top down.... manic to stable, with some antidepressant effect. I only made it to the 600mg level but as mentioned, the side effect I experienced was not acceptable. Hand tremors can be common, I had more of an internal tremor that affected my hand/eye coordination, causing extreme frustration.
My p/doc says both are good choices as adjuncts to A/D's at low doses, so I guess it boils down to ones reaction..... trial and error.
That's why I'm on the zyprexa... easy on my system, but I wish lamictal agreed with me, I felt great on it other than the glowing red hot face!
So, trying one or the other is not a big gamble and yet you may make big gains... they both have the potential to boost A/D's.
Wish I could give concrete advise but as you know, we all react differently.
Hope all goes well Jader ..... Rick
