sorry, this is a basic question, but maybe if we made a list or something i would note something i am overlooking. i am basically cognitively disabled, with very hard to figure out cognitive blocks, and lorazepam is no longer helpful except to relieve my stiffness, and to appear somewhat more natural to people.

Could you write your history? Executive function meaning of? I do know what it feels like when benzos no longer work. Love Phillipa

hm, there aren't exactly generic 'smart' pills, just things that help with different aspects, short term memory, attention, things like that, though some have broader effects than others. What problems do you face, specifically? That might help narrow things down and be more helpful than just a dozen drugs. you taking anything besides the benzo?

There is also free software online called the N-two back game, some might have heard of it.Stastistically its shown to provide some improvement with executive functioning and fluid intelligence. Give that a shot. Google online about it.

Soory, I keep think of something new after a post the last one, thus the reason for double posting. Did you ever consider maybe the Alzheimer medication Aricept? I think it helps with that maybe?

Anyone have opinions on the relative value of
huperzine
galantamine
aniracetam?I've only tried aniracetam.
It sharpens me up but is a bit of a strain.

If it helps any, I think many of your posts make some of US feel cognitively disabled! If your brilliant mind is experiencing some "blocks", it seems like a med like Aricept(sp?) would help. I know there are others available as well.
Maybe run your symptoms by a Psych-Pharm. Also, there is a scientist (well known I hear) on this board. His name is JR Becker, maybe you know this already but possibly run it by him? Get list of meds from those sources and research those, along with what you get here, maybe you'll find the one med that is alluding you. I hope so.
Would love to hear what you decide, good luck!
