seroquel why did you left me in darkness??????????
it was miracle for 2 months for me, and now i live in darkness
i havent tryed memantine, just not the good time yet

Hi Jeroen,
It's me again...
The Seroquel left you because it down regulated the dopamine.... So I think you should go for a dopamine enhancer. But be careful, because too much dopamine can lead to anxiety. You don't want to suffer that.
Why don't you ask your DR for Trazodone? I take it together with Seroquel and some Ativan (called Lorazepam in some countries) and it pretty well alleviates depression & anxiety for me.

it was the seroquel that helped me and totally made me a normal person, i felt so good
the chicks fell for me again
but my life was easy
no ill keep your taught about trazodone in my mind but first i must try memantine + seroquel

i cant take an anti depressant, it makes the psychosis worse

I took 150mg of Seroquel last night because of the anxiety....and i can't just go the ER and say "i need help" well, the money even going to one is stupid.
Couldnt take Xanax because, i had already taken 1 3 times yesterday, and it only lasts 2 freakin hours.
So, i said, "seroquel", slip 1 in half and took a whole, (100mg tabs). It had relief for about 30 min, then i'm telling everybody, this stuff makes you feel not "real", your mind thinks it's itsomewhere else....UGH, i just hit the bed because i felt i was in a dream, a really wierd one. Went to sleep, and woke, "what happened".

Have you considered uuuu Tegetrol? its for siezures, but it control mania. only issue is it lowers you white blood cell count.

One thing i dont recommemend just reading your posts over time is, Wellbutrin...because it does increase dopamine, but it does cause "side effects" anxiety, ringing in ears, i dont recommend it, but it is an antidepressant increases dopamine.I always will mention, a stimulant with a low dose of anti-psychotic medication, or a benzodiapine.
Just a suggestion.....Requip? mmm Zyprexa worked really really well for me....it didnt cause that "derealization effect" from Seroquel. I took 7.5, which it did make thoughts just "go out" which was unpleasant to me because i was in class..but it might help. Havent you been on Zyprexa?
the reason stopped it, i took a blood test (to see how white blood cells and other...) and it messed somethings up. Quit it.take care...

hi, i used to react calm to zyprexa
now when i take it hallucinations are b*d*ss and i get psychotic attacks on it
i cant use this anymore :(

I'm sorry you have to experience the darkness of hopelessness and depression, its a horrible thing. But I am confident you will find something. Hang in there

>Just to clarify -- Jeroen has never said that he was suffering from depression. He's mentioned psychosis, hallucinations, and some sort of schizophreniform disorder, never depression. That being the case, stimulants are likely to be a Very Bad Idea in his case.
Jeroen -- I do hope you find something. I'm curious about what your doctors are saying? Do they have any ideas of what direction to try next?

Given his poor response to most medications, i think a trial of a stimulant would be well warranted. Psychosis from stimulants is mostly a feature of dose and withdrawal, and may have to do with neurotoxicity from large-dose stimulants resulting in increased sensitivity of remaining dopamine receptors. Now, that means it is much different from chronic, low level therepeutic use. Complicating things more is tonic/phasic effects at different receptors, i still haven't quite figured out the whole picture, but improving tonic DA and reducing phasic longterm i think is the goal, so ok something like aripipraazole, which preferentially increases tonic activation, would be like low, steady stimulant use, which increases tonic DA levels, whereas snorting coke would mainly cause the initial euphoria-related phasic increase. and the AP would reduce effect of initial release. Also remember that TCAs are good drugs for psychotic depression, and they increase catecholamines too. And psychosis is noted for reduced prefrontal DA, or reduced D1 function - and D1 often has opposing action to D2, which is more important to be blocked. Also extradimensional/intradimensional set shifting tests show worse results for untreated psychosis and predicted results with modafinal. Also, compared to schizotypal, schizophrenics show reduced prefrontal volume. Epecially with one of the more region-specific neuroleptics, a stimulant might warm up his prefrontal cortex enough to take control of the rest of the brain. I think thats a better idea than just staying on the neuroleptic merry-go-round again and again. And i think a trial of ECT is also warranted, probably before thinking about stimulant treatment. And it also seems from just reading his posts there is a least some mood disturbance that he is dealing with, certainly he's been clear he feels hopeless and given poor response to treatment reėvaluating the diagnosis would be wise, and psychosis is related to mood disorders. Crazy is trying the same thing again and expecting a new result. And it seems clear the APs are not much help for him. consider stimulants and anxiety. Stimulants 'cause anxiety'. but, for some people they just destroy it - now you can say 'well thats just for _social_ anxiety, thats just for ADHD heads,' or whatever, but then what the disease is is just what we figure out AFTER finding the right medication. I'm rambling but i think this is underconsidered.

Zyprexa is my life saver. Sounds like you have a bad reaction to every med. Sure you just don't like taking meds. Most people don't, untill forced.
Maybe an anti-depressant is not right for you now. Or maybe you just have not found a good one for you.

Zyprexa has been a life-saver to me, too, aside from the weight gain...but then I noticed things like mouth twitching, other muscles twitiching, and just the tiniest bit of saliva forming at the corner of my mouth...all of this on only 2.5 mg of Zyprexa. It was being used to treat depression/anxiety and possibly bipolar II? I would love for it to work for me still, but maybe other meds are screwing it up? I take a bunch...celexa, trileptal, ambien, adderall, birth control, clonazapam as needed (and I don't usually need it if I'm on the Zyprexa), propanalol for high blood pressure...just a giant pocketful of meds. Just wondering if you've ever had anything not mix well w/your Zyprexa...I feel so normal when I'm taking it...it's like I actually have use of my god-given brain and can deal w/my young kids, etc. By the way, did you gain any weight on it? What is your dosage?
