What do you augment Nardil with?
Im thinking about adding something to my 90mg's of Nardil, Iv'e been on 90mg for about 4 months.
The only thing I have tried is Methylamphenidate and D-Amphetamine, (In House) which I'm not gonna try again due to extreme hypertension.
SLS had a nice huge list but I can't find it.
Im thinking.
A dopamine agonist would be best but I dunno about dosages. (And would have to go in-house again which I really don't want to)
Lamictal?
an SSRI / SNRI (Im pretty sure would give me hypertension).
Umm yeah I dunno.What do you think.

Not to speak for SLS I think he switched from nardil to parnate could be mistaken. He changed his augmenters more than one time. Maybe post a Thread and Ask for SLS? Love Phillipa

Combining high dose Nardil with just 1 pill of an SSRI/SNRI could kill you. Primarily Noradrenergic TCAs or Reboxetine are no problem, in fact they can make Nardil safer as they block the NE-transporter so tyramine cannot (or to a less degree) cause it's cardiovascular action, the "cheese effect". But for safety reasons when one is already on a MAOI and wants to add a NARI, then the the MAOI has to be stopped (not abruptly!), 2 weeks later the Noradrenergic TCA / NARI treatment is started and then the MAOI dosage is increased again slowly.

I know of one case report where the MAOI Parnate has been very carefully combined under close supervision of Pdocs for severe refractory Major Depression. I also know some people combine Wellbutrin with MAOIs, but it is for sure very risky and can result in psychosis, seizures and if the dose of both meds is high enough death.

Lithium has been studied as an augmenting agent with phenelzine. To my knowledge, there are no studies examining phenelzine + Lamictal. It might be worth a try though; they are not containdicated. Talk to your pdoc.
