Feel much less like a truck hit me today. Of course, that probably has something to do with no real prior surgery experience than anything else.
Basically, just tired and being careful to let the pacemaker settle into where it's sewn in. I stood up to talk to a census worker for about 10 minutes, and then followed that up with a short drive as a passenger, and it proved to be just a little too much. I think by tomorrow things should be much better.
What surprises me is how ineffective the Darvocet has been. My normal dose of Xanax is more effective.
But, overall, things are going ok with some left-side neck numbness, which I am assured is common and temporary. I'm a big baby when it comes to needles, so those of you shying away from the VNS option for that type of reason (honestly, I was) should take comfort that it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

> RoslynnThanks much, Roslynn. I am holding out as much hope as I can muster right now that this may do the trick. The pain hasn't been too bad and I have only a few more days of recovery before we can get down to work.
Thanks again for your thoughts.
