I've been taking Nardil for one year and one of the side effects I cannot get rid of is daytime sedation. And then another one is staying asleep.
But does anyone have any suggestions on what to take to deal with the daytime sedation? I was thinking, maybe as a non-prescription, perhaps something with a lot of caffeine. Any suggestions?

Well caffiene tablets would probably be the easiest if you just want something with a lot of caffiene.

You really shouldn't consume too much caffeine while you're taking an MAOI, since it can raise your blood pressure.
If you're also having trouble staying asleep, well, caffeine certainly isn't going to help in that department.

I drink coffee for a real good kick, you can make it stronger, by adding more beans. The other things are Diet Pepsi Max, and Diet Mountain Dew.
Usualy 2 cups of coffee in morning and the other 2 for the rest of the day.
I get sedation from zyprexa and perphenazine. I don't even drink water, very often. Those 3 give the best kicks and the diet part (coffee with only creamer) keeps the weight down.

I just read the rest of the thread and wanted to add. Caffine does not keep me awake, even if I drink it right before bed. Infact some times it even puts me to sleep. Also, I take 50mg toprol XL, for my raised blood pressure. Which is probably from the caffine.
