I've been off Cymbalta for about 1 month now. Initially it went well. I actually felt fantastic for about the first two weeks off the drug. Some of my symptoms seem to be returning now. I don't know how to descrbe it, other than to say that I feel emotionally strained and weakened.
I think I may go back on meds, but not Cymbalta this time. Rather Zoloft.
My question is: how do you know whether you actually need meds, or whether your problems are due to a messed up life.
Do you ever feel guilty about taking meds? I feel guilty when I take meds.

Situational depression or anxiety is still depression or anxiety, Jamal. Do diabetics feel bad for having to take insulin? No.
You have to do what's best for YOU.

That's odd. I've never felt guilty about taking meds. It's weird because I feel guilty about everything else I do in life.

Jamal,Not to sound like I am being critical but you also might be experiencing withdrawal symptoms due to coming of Cymbalta way too quickly. People on the Paxil Progress board report similar experiences. Once the withdrawal symptoms pass, they are fine. Unfortunately, I can't tell you how long it will last.
A physician that I know describes this situation in this manner. Antidepressants tend to store (metabolites?) or something in fat cells even when you off the drug. At various periods, they get released causing the withdrawal symptoms.
Whatever you do, I hope you feel better.
