For those who have taken Budeprion SR, how does it take to start taking effect?

Well for me must have had a paradoxical reaction as l50mg first week sent me to the hospital as the pdoc thought I was manic. Not so. Supposed to be a great drug for most no weight gain and energy. Phillipa

Seriously, for me it was almost immediately. Within a couple of days I was jolted--it was like I could feel it, all of a sudden--out of a suicidal depression. Of course, I got a little hypomanic after that..but...*much* better than being suicidal.
I've never had an AD kick in that quickly. From what I've heard about doing coke, it might be similar.

budeprion (by TEVA) never did work for me, Awful, was cyring all the time.
then switched to real deal and noticed difference.
(buproprion was fine also)so caution with budeprion.
remember that was just my experience.
best wishes.b2c.

The effects for me were almost immediate.
But, I've also had Cymbalta seem to make a difference within 24 hours of my first dose, so I might just be imagining everything.

I asked my pdoc about the generic thing, and she waved her hand and said, "it's fine." But it seems a lot of people haven't been getting the same results from the TEVA. Apparently it's related to the different release mechanisms--you might either have too much or too little of the drug in your system at any given time.
When I started bupropion, my depression went away but I was *much* more emotionally labile. Teared up at every sappy commercial. This was fine with me--I felt great otherwise, and I'd rather be sad that have that totally empty, meaningless feeling. I wonder if you were getting a similar, just way more intense effect, because the TEVA flooded you with too much at one time.

I have tried the teva brand of bupropion for a month and the brand name version for a month and I think I like the teva version. I felt more response to it. But it could just be in my mind.
I am going to give the whole thing time. My pdoc wasn't convinced there was a difference even after I told the FDA did studies and found some evidence of differences between brands.
