Rozerem is almost less effective than Melatonin

Posted by Sky Brite Line on July 26, 2008, at 23:58:38

I've taken 1mg at night, it does not work at all. Tyennol PM would be better than this. This is co-pay 50dollers.

I used to be on 30mg Restoril for almost a year. I didnt know that was not how it was suppost to be.

I'm an old poster who is just losing touch.

Rozerem only comes in 8mg tablets to my knowledge ?

I'm surprised you managed with Restoril for a year -- generally benzodiazepine sleep agents don't last that long for people as they get acclimated quickly; it is a metabolite of Valium.

Rozerem was created (besides marketing) I suppose for people who were already accustomed to benzodiazepines. Lunesta, Ambien, etc, will not work if you are to any degree habituated to a benzodiazepine, in general.

But it is a weak agent, so if you don't really respond much to melatonin either, you probably wont respond much to it. It is one of those hit and miss drugs.

This is just a reminder, and an expression of a different experience of it.

The reminder: mileage varies on all these drugs. What works for you, may not work for others; what doesn't work for you may be excellent for others.

As for Rozerem, it was a much better experience for me than apparently it was for you. I took it for some time while I was trying EMSAM, and its effects increased over time. The first time I took it, it didn't impress me as far as getting me to sleep. It did, however, impress me in having the fewest after-effects the following day. Over the course of a couple of weeks, it helped more and more in getting me to sleep, and it continued to have by far the fewest residual effects.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you.
