I just got 100 carisoprodol 350mg tablets this morning. The package had a sticker on saying it had been opened by customs. Also, a signature was required and that made me a bit paranoid. Only customs would have requested the order be delivered using recorded delivery, and I'm not sure why they would want to do that. I've never had to sign for any other dug I've bought from an online pharmacy.
Anyway, I basically ordered alongside some bupropion because I'd had a lot of trouble getting benzos past customs. I was hoping it might substitute up to a point and help me sleep. Does anyone have any experience with it? What should I expect?

Depending on the pharmacy you ordered from, some of them routinely require a signature upon deliver. They do that as proof you received it, and to verify your claims if you never received it.
I've had several shipments opened by Customs. As long as you got the shipment, I'm pretty confident you are all set. They would have just confiscated it if it wasn't ok. I seriously doubt they have the budget, manpower, time, or desire to hunt down some joe who got a small package of a few dozen pills that was not amphetamines, cocaine, or marijuana.

Have you ever taken carisoprodol? I think you are right about the recorded delivery. I didn't have time to look closely earlier, but it seems the recorded delivery originated in India. I've had other packages from this pharmacy and never had to sign for it. I think they did this to verify that I actually received it because this is a reshipment - the original didn't turn up at all for some reason, no seizure notification, nothing. I've just never had a package opened by customs before, they've seized everything they opened. Carisoprodol is a controlled drug in some countries so that's what had me puzzled as to why they didn't just seize it.
Anyway, I took a 350mg pill about an hour ago. So far it feels like a cross between a benzo and a barbiturate. Very relaxed, calm, mild euphoria. Like two beers or so, but my head seems quite clear. Lovely.

Hi Quintal
What do UK Customs do with Benzo's (or anything you have experience of) do they just send you a letter or is there more...
Cheers

You just get a letter saying controlled drugs have been found in a package with your address on it. you're invited to go to court to challenge the seizure, but the best thing to do is just ignore it. They don't follow it up AFAIK. I email a scan of the seizure notice to the pharmacy and they've always re-shiped my order straight away, no hesitation. This year I had three benzo shipments intercepted, so in the end the pharmacy just refunded my credit card. Great service. Better than Boots.

One 350mg Soma is a great muscle relaxant and a very mild anxiolytic. Two puts me into the famed "Soma Coma" for several hours.
Soma is actually a pro-drug of meprobamate, or Miltown, which is considered the first of the sedative drugs, pre-dating benzodiazepines. It has been around a long, long time.

:-) I'd never heard of it, but I can imagine! I don't think I'll be using it too often, but it's nice to have on hand in case I ever run out of benzos.

> QBe very careful about long term use of Soma. Its why I was put on its admittedly poor relative Robaxin. Either will habituate, but Soma can in some people fast. Yes, I have tried Soma once from an older prescription and it evened out my muscle spasm problems like nothing under the sun.
But it is also quickly converted to meprobamate, Miltown, an old and discontinued attempt at a non barbiturate/non-Quaalude anxiolytic.
It is still not a controlled substance in the US, but there are watching eyes on it -- personally, under the care of a watching doctor, that's fine, as long as there isn't other CNS depressants like any substantial amount of benzodiazepines. Some states would like to make it C-V or C-IV.

Is it not completely nonsensical that Soma is not a controlled substance but breaks down in the body into meprobamate, which is a Schedule 4???? Our government's infinite wisdom never ceases to amaze me.By the way, in just a few states like Georgia, Soma IS legally classified as a Schedule 4. Sucks for me because it really is a great muscle relaxant, at least if taken only occasionally, but it's really hard to get a prescription for it here.

>Curious -- yes, now I remember there are a few exceptions like that, possibly in the name of the "war on drugs" that maybe Soma could become a street drug.
Soma was made back ages ago when a lot of currently specified testing on things weren't made standard.
It was more lax to get a medication through the FDA -- now everything has to be tested to satisfy the FDA and DEA to the nth degree. Even Lyrica, which I would say scarcely classifies as a controlled substance, is put as C-V.
If we didn't have the FDA we have now, we wouldn't have Tylenol, a life saving anti-pyretic, one really of only two in the arsenal of things, the other being aspirin (another ancient drug), which is now not used under 18 because of Reye's Syndrome (again never examined at the time or known about).Ibuprofen just doesn't really cut fever like acetaminophen, at least for me anyhow. It is primarily a pain agent.
Of course, not much above the standard dose of acetaminophen and you get into liver damage territory, something which unfortunately claims lives more in the UK -- but I won't go into details here for obvious reasons.
This is the end of the thread.
