I have recurrent major depression that is thus far mostly treatment resistant. I've been taking adderall 2x/day and this has helped some, but recently have been struggling. Yesterday my pdoc added .5mg risperdal in the evenings. I tend to respond to very small doses of medications (I take 5-10mg adderall successfully). I took the first dose of the risperdal last night around 6pm. By 9pm, I was so tired and dizzy I could barely stand up. I woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and was very dizzy and had a hard time staying awake just to get back to bed, which is abnormal. This morning, I woke up around 6:45 for work at 8am. Took 10mg adderall around 8:30am. I felt quite dizzy from when I got up until around 10am. I also noticed that I had the sense of smelling chlorine several times today, which has never happened before (unless I'm at a pool etc). I was not near a pool or anything else that might give off the smell, and once when I mentioned it to a coworker, she said she did not smell it.
Is it possible that the feeling of smelling chlorine is somehow related to the new meds? And regarding the dizziness and tiredness, how long can I expect this to last?
I called pdoc this morning and left a message around 9am but didnt hear from her today. Hopefully she will call on Monday.

Have you googled resperidol to see if altered smell could be a side effect? Maybe your pdoc will call later. Other than that how do you feel? Imagine you will be groggy for a while till your body adjust. Phillipa

smelling strange things is what i read a seizure
i have strange smell too from lamictal
not sure if its a seizure it could be risperdal related, i took it too and my side effects were tirednessm, zombieness, unable to function, not normal
anyway
