I ran across this article talking about a recent development in ECT known as "ultrabrief pulse". I'm wondering if it's been around awhile or not. I had ECT in '05, so I'm wondering if I might have had this procedure or not.

Not sure how long it has been around, but they used ultrabrief pulse with me in 2007. Can't say that it was an improvement or not. I still ended up with memory and disorientation problems after, and some still persist. 7 treatments, RUL at 5 times the seizure threshold level. Never again.

Dr. Harold Sackeim made this study. He has been critized for biased research.

Yeah, he's probably got shares in the new ECT machine company.
