Sometimes when I am talking and having a conversation, I will lose my train of thought and will have to pause for a few moments to regain what I was going to say. I talked to my pdoc about this and asked if it was the meds I am on. I take 2 antipsychotics, one anti depressant and one anxiolytic. Although, I haven't always had this problem. My pdoc said that it could be the meds but it also could be disorganized speech, since I am diagnosed as schizoaffective.
I really want to know the cause of this, lol. Does anyone else have this kind of issue?

I know exactly exactly exactly what your talking about. Anything that will help you concentrate, not block out thoughts, and "see your self" talking before you talk.

Hi Angela2,
I get this from time to time also. I am on lots of venlafaxine & mirtazapine. If it's any of my meds causing it, it's gotta be one or both of these.
I find it very embarrassing. There I am trying to sound like a rational human when all of a sudden one of my neural circuit breakers trips & I'm left in the dark looking for candles.
People always smile nicely but I am sure they're thinking something like "he's broken" or "must be stoned" or "mental note: never trust this person with anything important"....
If you don't want to ditch the obvious culprits you mentioned, then maybe try reducing one & see if it goes away? If you can work out which one it is, it'll be a lot easier for the doc to find a replacement :)
Else you could always have a backup plan. How about this: You keep a phone in your pocket & when your train of thought whizzes bye without you, just say "Excuse me, I have to take this - it's important" and pretend the thing vibrated in your pocket. Then you can have a nice 5 min chat with yourself about anything you wish. Chances are when "the call" is over your real conversation partner will have forgotten what you were saying anyway", especially if your pretend one sounds dramatic :)
...well that's all I've got. I feel like jumping into a jet engine intake today. I've pulled the blinds down & had dinner but my watch is looking at me like I'm being ridiculous. It wouldn't mention it of course - it's far too polite. I can just catch it rolling it's eyes when I turn quickly.....
:)
