Thought Id would post my impressions after one week on Pristiq. I have read the previous posts about it being a "patent extender" and wasn't expecting anything. Prior to Pristiq I was taking 150mg of Effexor. I do better on 225mg or 300mg, but if we go that high I become anorgasmic. Even at 150mg, my O's are about a 5 out of 10 on my personal Richter scale.
So, after one week....guess what? the O's have moved to about an 8. If someone wants to tell me that this is purely placebo, Im OK with that. I've conducted numerous "experiments" this week and the results have been consistent.
It's the same response I have if, when on Effexor, I take a daylong med holiday and wait until evening (I take my meds in the am) so it's 36 hrs without meds.
I was given 30 day sample by my pdoc, and don't yet know if my insurance company will pay for this med. It's surely pricey - but I want it to keep my Pristiq and my O's.
What I am hoping is that it may allow me to augment with something in order to kick the depression in the nuts and keep some level of orgasmic response.

Is there really no possible scientific reason for my response? It's noticabley different.
Perhaps I should be just stop wondering and enjoy.
