OK,
So I usually take 600mg Effexor XR every night. Tonight I was a bit scramble brained. I remember getting out the caps but I don't remember taking them. I've been busy & I've been out, so I may have put them down somewhere. Who knows. I've given up searching.
My question is: Do I take another 600mg now or wait until tomorrow & see if I feel like HELL.....???
ie Which is "less worse" - double or nothing...???
*sigh*.....

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't 600mg a very high dose for Effexor??
I would wait until it's the next time to take them and then take your usual dose as normal. If you start to feel a bit 'off' in the mean time than take half the dose (if possible). As you are taking the XR version, then you should be getting a prolonged supply of the drug from your gut anyway, so any 'withdrawal effects' should be less severe.

Can you look at the date you got the prescription and then count how many days between then and now and how many capsules are missing to see if it adds to to you having taken todays capsule/s or not?

Good idea count them and if off call the doc and ask what he wants you to do if off. Love Phillipa

ONe missed dose shouldn't hurt you too much.. That would be better than double dosing..With me, it usually takes a couple of days off meds to feel it..Don't feel bad.. I do it all the time!! Did I take it??? Ummmmm don't know.

Thanks so much for the good & quick responses. I feel like such an idiot...!
I'm in the habit of getting them out at 6pm & taking them immediately, but I was going out so I got them out early and then my brain got creative cos' it had no pattern to follow...
Counting the packets & missing caps is a great idea but, well...err.....I've been stockpiling for quite a while. So I've got probably enough caps to last me a year or more. So counting's not going to work in my case.
It's 16 hrs after "6pm" now. I feel OK so I'll just take it easy & be wary of anything odd & then maybe take 1/2 my dose early.
Thankyou all again for your help. Twas much appreciated :)
