Hi.
I've been having Tension-type headaches for 3 years now with rare "normal" breaks. As time went by, the physical pain came with dark thoughts.
After I had to quit school because of concetration problems linked with the pain, on the outside, and the emptiness that filled my thoughts I decided to take measures to regain my strength again.
I've been on Cymbalta for 2 months now and the thoughts have shifted from dark to neutral but the headaches haven't decreased in intensity nor periodicity.
I'm must say that I'm disappointed in the results as the headaches seem to be biggest huddle in to functioning so that's why I come here, hoping for advice to how I can get rid of these at time paralysing pain....I thank you in advance

> I thank you in advanceChronic pain can exacerbate depression and vice versa. I would suggest you see a neurologist if you have exhausted all other avenues, assuming underlying illness has been ruled out by your PCP.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirtazapine :
"Mirtazapine has been reported to be effective in the prophylactic treatment of chronic tension headache."
Hence if you're depressed AND have the headaches, you might achieve one of those very rare "kill two birds with the one stone" effects. :)

Thanks for the advice.
I must say that when I started Cymbalta, my hopes were growing with every pill slicked...
but now it's like, even though the frequency has decreased, its intensity is like hell at the moment that I dare not wake without taking a couple of painkillers.
I will see my doctor tonight and I hope to have a cure cause it's beginning to handicap me severely...
