I started back on tianeptine on Tuesday and so far it's working quite well, mood is better, a bit more motivation, and back pain is gone. I'm taking 50mg - 4 tablets a day with 50mg amisulpride. My GP stopped my supply of zopiclone on Tuesday, so now I'm back to the drawing board re: insomnia. I've placed an order with the magic benzo fairy though, and I'm expecting a delivery any day - I can't keep letting them mess me around like this. My social worker is supposed to be twisting arms to get me a script this afternoon, but I daren't let myself hope any more. It seems as though just as I manage to stabilize myself in one area, the mental health team so their level best to destabilize me in another. I just want to get back on an even keel.

Hey,
I hope the benzo thing comes through for you. But mostly I just wanted to say that it's good to see your name here again. Welcome back.gg

GG is it a benzo? Thought it was a European antidepressant. But I don't understnad the mechanisms of action. Phillipa

Tianeptine may not help with insomnia.
Reports vary.
For me it tended to aggravate insomnia though my initial response to it was so positive that it was not an issue.

Hi Quintal,
The meds. you mention are all things I've tried myself. However I recall that combining amisulpride and tianeptine induced a prolonged dysphoric state in me that lasted months. I also read on David Pearces research site ( www. biopyschiatry.com) that substantial reinstatement of depressive symtoms could follow from combining amisulpride and SSRI's ( even though tianeptine, is an accelerator of Serotonin), something to do with sensitization of dopamine receptors following ssri use. It's all rather obscure to a layman like myself, but I'd never combine these two again based on how I felt . David Pearces site was the non plus ultra for relaible info on these potentialy hazardous drugs. Pity that it's no longer available( as of quite recently) I haven't yet found out why.Good luck with your regime.

Thank you gg, it's good to be back. My social worker managed to get 3 zopiclone tablets to see me over the weekend. She's going to ask pdoc for p.r.n lorazepam on Monday as well as zopiclone, so we'll see how that goes...

I find tianeptine makes me a little sleepy at times, but it doesn't really help with insomnia. At least I have a small amount of zopiclone to help with that now. It does seem to be working quite well.

I've taken them both seperately several times before, and in combination with other drugs - sometimes with success, sometimes not. Reboxetine + tianeptine is one I will not be revisting again... It's always a case of 'suck it and see' as to what effect each combo will produce. I'm prescribed 50mg/day amisulpride by my pdoc, but I've moved it to a p.r.n schedule anyway because I don't like the risks associated with elevated prolactin long-term, although he is not concerned. So far I've felt much better on this combo and wasn't expecting any special problems. I will bear your experience in mind though. Thanks for your concern.
