I've been on Nardil since 2/1. 45mg
It has made me less tearful, but overall I still don't feel great.I am concerned about the side effects. I've been having some intermittent mild chest pain, tingling in the face, pain in shoulders, dizziness and waking in the middle of the night. Is this normal? I may take it down to 30mg. Wonder if I'm having angina reaction? I have a heart murmur
Only foods that I eat that may be questionable are caffeine (3 cups roughly) and choc. teddy grahams. Could it be those foods doing this? I'd gladly stop them...
I really feel like I want to bail on this med but am so frustrated to try something new. Again.
I felt so hopeful about nardil...bumming.

I'm also sensitive to heart reactions. I check my blood pressure and pulse using an OMRON automatic (cuff). I also take Toprol XL 25 or 50 mg if my pulse is racing. Toprol is a very good medication. I don't take Nardil, but I suggest that you investigate you measure your BP and pulse.

Hi,
I've been on Nardil(90mg) for most of eleven years. I occasionally get the kind of pain you describe. When I do, I usually lie down and take my blood pressure. It will usually be slightly elevated. Not like a true hypertensive crisis, but enough to make me feel bad. These reactions do not follow ingestion of any foods so that is not the cause. When I had a trial of Parnate I had a full fledged hypertensive event with no reason. I had to stop the trial of Parnate. After lying down for a few minutes the pain and general malaise feeling goes away. I've probably had about seven or eight of these episodes in my lifetime. I honestly don't know what causes it. I have not seen the spontaneous hypertensive event documented with Nardil.
You might ask your doctor, but you have not been on Nardil long enough to get the full effect. Get a blood pressure monitor. I would hate to see you stop a trial of a medication that will probably work, because of a side effect.
Good luck,
Jedi

It is because nardil causes disproportional release of norepherine/adrenaline and catecholimines. You need magnesium to stop this but it if you take nardil for longer then 6 weeks and you begin these symptoms its adrenal fatigue. You need raw adrenal supplement
