day 1: took it late afternoon. definately nothing in terms of immediate effect for me.
i will update periodically, especially if/when things change.
-----
to clarify/recap, my problems are complete lack of functioning, drive, feeling, concentration, cognitive connection ability, useful memory, useful fluency, learning ability, enjoyment, ability to make decisions, ability to understand anything new, ability to have real likes and dislikes, ability to want. my problems with executive functioning are so severe, i have a strong sense that my problems are frontal lobe related. i wear the same clothes everyday, my dad comes to get me to get me out of the house and eat something... almost every day. otherwise i just lie here, staring at a computer screen in my bed, and i have a poor and declining connection with even it.
none of this is overstatement. i imagine it is probably all summed up as a profound malfunctioning of the frontal cortex.
despite my lack of meaningful feeling, i am still able to feel loneliness and emptiness, and feel terrible over how much my life i have lost and am losing.
i do sometimes function in short bursts, where i feel very distant from my actual behaviour and speech, and it really isn't "functioning" at all. social contact is always unnatural, and i always regret making it.
unrelated, i have tardive movement problems and akathisia from drugs i haven't been on for years (upon years.) i almost wonder if i am in the early phases of parkinson's with the often characteristic death of the soul.
-----
as usual i was very out of it today, after all that, i forgot to use the printable savings coupon when we got to ogdensburg (my nearest US bordertown), even though i had it with me.

Hi.I have noticed a pattern of response that several people have exhibited with Deplin. There is a "blip" of improvement, mainly in energy, that occurs within the first few days to a week. It only lasts for a day or two, after which the person returns to their baseline depression. However, after a month or two, a persistent antidepressant response begins to emerge.
I imagine not everyone reacts this way to Deplin. However, don't be too disappointed if you experience a transient response during the first week that comes and goes quickly. This might end up being a prognosticator of eventual success.
Good luck.

Scott so you think feeling better on day three meant it might work later? Seemed to go downhill stuck with it another week. Thanks Phillipa how long did you stay on it?

Posting on this board back on so now I can request anyone who has taken Deplin could you rate the med on of the two rating sites? May start it again if it has a sort of rebound effect. Thanks Scott for info again. Phillipa

That is my suspicion. Too few people on Psycho-Babble have tried it. I don't know if this sort of thing is carefully observed and documented.
One must be patient and wait before calling it quits. By week 12, you should see a trend emerging that may not progress as quickly as you would like. However, I vote that you continue to experiment with Nardil until you begin to experience an awakening to the world and to yourself. Dizziness is sometimes a good sign that Nardil has resumed illiciting its more potent reactions.
Listen, some drugs start out producing a noticeable improvement in the hours to days. Since discontinuing Deplin, I have not had the intense nightmares and choppy sleep that now challenge me. I'm going to ask the doctor for either Restoril or Ativan.
If you've been on a plethora of drugs, try to recall witch ones produced a positive effect and keep a list. It could also be helpful to document which treatments are being used and why. You can ask what research group he is part of, or any periodicals he might recommend.
Good luck. Keep me posted.

Scott not on Nardil having surgery couldn't if I wanted to. And so far henyro is the only one to post a positive response. I just got very yellow pee which is the B vitamins from both Deplin and MVI solgar V. And no insurance pays for it and the pharmacy has no info refers you to deplin.com. Asked new endo about it he said what's that? Even the pdoc was only given on brochure about the med and didn't seem to understand it all all and they gave her a pad of paper and one box of samples with on pill in a wrapper. So it's finish this bottle and that's it as it's expensive that coupon is only good if no other insurance. did save a third first time. See pdoc this week . Maybe someone else has tried it in the month since I've seen her. Weaning down on valium right now. Love Phillipa ps will take it tomorrow see if same thing happens day three and that will be my answer.

How long did you take Deplin? I have been on it a month (with Marplan) with no real benefit. I don't know if I should give it another couple of months or save the money. And now I know where those nightmares were coming from. Thanks for that info.

Today was my last day. I'm done. Maybe I'll try it again some day, but at that price I just can't afford it.
