I've only been on Ritalin for about 3-4 months and already I feel like...kinda like i did before the Rit. Maybe not as bad, but like before....
Anyone else had this happen to them?

Are you taking it for ADD or depression? How much do you take?

I used to take it for tiredness. I started on 20mg and went up to 80mg / day (spread out). I wouldn't say it actually pooped out, rather that I just got more & more exhausted until finally I just had to crash & try to sleep for a few days.
What I'm trying to say is that I think "I pooped out" rather than the Ritaln... ;)

I mean, I know I have a high tolerance for stuff, and I build up a tolerance easily...but i don't know what to do...
I'm on Soma for back pain and even with that, if I take it for too many days in a row I have to stop and take a break from it otherwise it won't do anything...or I have to take more, but that's just as bad. So i have to be in pain for a few days, then I can take it again...it's s**ks.
And now the same thing is happening with the ritalin.
What do I do?

I take Strattera now for ADD, but when first diagnosed took IR Ritalin for about a year. Within about 6 months, I had to titrate up to 80MG a day to truly alleviate my ADD symptoms. In fact, I recall from about 40mg to 80mg there was a dramatic difference in how much better it worked.
Do you think maybe you're just on too low a dose?

maybe too low...but i think my doc was hesitant about prescribing them [and that's fine to some degree]. i guess next time i see her i'll just have to let her know what's up. i was on the extended release at first and had to switch to IR because the other one didn't last long at all.

Try an amphetamine-based medication such as Adderall or Dexedrine.

You can get generic dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine) which would be much cheaper than Adderall. While it's a less prescribed medicine some people say it is smoother and has less of a come down than Adderall.
