Is it necessary to take klonopin to prevent seizures from clozaril? I am taking 300mg clozaril/day with 1 mg klonopin. Can I reduce the klonopin safely?

Generally benzodiazepines are contraindicated with Clozaril and if there is worries of seizures another AED such as Depakote or Lamictal (they can do other things like change plasma levels but not respiratory depression) or Trileptal should probably be used, but with careful use and monitoring of low dosage benzodiazepines I suppose respiratory depression (the major contraindication) isn't a major issue.
