Testing

Posted by Irma on January 21, 2008, at 6:35:38

Just trying to figure out how to post. Registered yesterday, got the confirm e-mail, did that, posted 3 TIMES ... still no post. Checked all the boards, it's not anywhere. So now I'm trying again, but notice the Password already populated above (in "Enter your post") is 13 characters long ... that's NOT my password. I'm going to try it and see what happens. Are you trying to make me completely lose my mind, Dr. Bob???

Hi, I'm going to try to shed some light here.

Your posts yesterday did appear on the Faith board, and Deputy 10derHeart moved one of them here to medications, along with an explanation of the problem. You can find that thread -- since you've gotten some answers -- at this link: http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/20080114/msgs/807929.html

As for the password, this site encrypts your password when it automatically populates the posting form. Your password will show up looking much longer than the one you type in manually, but it's just the security feature encrypting the password you chose when you registered.

Also, if you use the notification system, please be aware that deputies cannot answer you unless you have your BabbleMail turned on. Only Dr Bob has access to anyone's registration information, so your privacy is intact, but it does mean that Deputy 10derHeart had no way to let you know that she had addressed this problem for you. That's not to say that you have to have BabbleMail turned on, of course. It's only a reminder for everyone that you won't hear from deputies unless BabbleMail is turned on.

I hope that helps answer your questions. If you still have questions, you can check the FAQ, located at http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html or you could post a question to the Administration board, located at http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/admin/

Thanks so much, Deputy Racer. Dr. Bob e-mailed me the links to my post, so I have been able to see responses. What I'm furthering wondering, though, is why my post does not appear here, in the lists of new posts

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/index.html

I've been on a lot of messages boards over the years - I have to say this one is very confusing. I'm persisting because the information I've read seems very, very helpful. It just seems I can't easily find my posts without bookmarking them. Why would they not appear in the list of threads?
Thanks again!

You're very welcome. I'm glad when I can help.

As for seeing your post, it could be that you need to refresh your screen to see your post. When you click "Submit," the post will appear, but you will need to hit refresh or reload on your browser in order to see it.

I hope that helps.

Yes, that does help, DR ... I've found it now ... way down on the list. I just assumed that newer posts would be up top. Thanks! Kinda seems a bit couterproductive for a board supporting mental health to make one want to heave the computer out the window ... ;)

This is the end of the thread.
